The 26/27 Season Starts Before the Snow Falls

The 26/27 Season Starts Before the Snow Falls

The countdown is on.

With resorts already gearing up for the 26/27 season, riders are starting to think beyond summer. Passes are booked, gear is coming out of storage, and the first chair suddenly feels closer.

Whistler Blackcomb is planning to kick off its winter season on November 20, while Blue Mountain is targeting December 10 for opening day.

But before you chase that first run, there’s one thing worth getting ready for: YOU.

First Runs Hit Different

Early-season riding is exciting — but it can also be unpredictable. Conditions can change quickly, coverage may be limited, and your body hasn’t seen the mountain in months.

That makes the start of the season the perfect time to reset your gear, get your legs moving, and make sure your protection is ready to ride.

A few things to check before opening day:
• Tune your skis or snowboard and check your bindings.
• Inspect your helmet, boots, and other essential gear.
• Start building strength and mobility before your first full day.
• Check resort conditions before heading out.
• Pack the protection you’ll actually want when the terrain gets serious.

More Than Just Powder

Weather will be one of the stories to watch this winter. NOAA is currently forecasting a strong El Niño developing through the 26/27 Northern Hemisphere winter, while the World Meteorological Organization says the event could become one of the strongest on record.

For riders, that means one thing: be ready for changing conditions. Fresh snow, firm runs, variable terrain — every day on the mountain can feel different. Your gear should be ready for it all.

Ride Hard. Protect Smart.

Protection shouldn’t change the way you ride. It should give you the confidence to push further.

DAZZ protection is designed for exactly that. From XRD® Padded Hip Protection Shorts and XRD® Protective Knee Pads to XRD® Protective Elbow Pads, Impact Wrist Guards, and the Magnetic Protective Face Mask, DAZZ gives riders another layer of protection without getting in the way of movement.

Because falling is part of riding. Getting back up is too.
